The most common errors on Android OS

Find out How to fix the most common errors on Android OS

Invalid IMEI.

Having a problem with a low battery on your phone? or the phone won't wake up when you press the power button? or maybe your SIM card is not detectable? These are some of the most common problems that Android, as well as iOS phone owners, experience. In this article, we will focus on Android itself. We will show you how to fix the 7 most common errors faced by smartphone owners.

Android OS

As we mentioned above, no matter if you own a Smartphone or an iPhone, each phone begins to lose its value over time, and its functionality decreases over time, and this is understandable. In this guide, we will try to focus on the most common errors in Android Smartphones. We will try to advise you on how to deal with these problems before you return the phone to the service.

#1 — Extremely fast battery discharge

At our top in tAndroid Batteryhe ranking of 7 errors, there was a problem with a fast-draining battery. This is one of the worst problems we can experience. This is definitely quite an annoying problem, especially when we recently charged the phone. Battery problems can range from apps running in the background that you don't even know about or too many of them. A working GPS or playing games is another thing that will eat up a lot of battery power.

For many users, third-party applications are the cause of the discharge. To really check if this is the case for you, you can check it by starting your device in safe mode. Charge the phone to a point above the discharge percentage. Wait for the battery to discharge until it is below this number again. If the phone works as expected without turning it off first, the app is causing the problem. Delete recently downloaded apps until the problem disappears. If you are unable to do this manually, you may need to do a complete factory reset in that case.

Another problem may be the hardware itself, due to the degradation of lithium-ion batteries. This is more common if the phone is more than a year old or has been refurbished. The only option is to contact the device manufacturer and try to repair or replace the phone.

Power Button
#2 — The device does not wake up when you press the power button

  • Error forced sleep is fairly common and was a problem for many devices. When the screen is off, does not wake up when you press the power button. Instead, users must press and hold the power button for ten seconds and force a restart.

  • A forced restart will fix the problem, at least temporarily. However, this is not a long-term solution and only an upcoming software update will permanently fix the problem. You can solve this problem in a different way.

  • Some Smartphone users report that the problem is caused by the screen protector, especially the tempered glass protector. Removing the screen protector does help, but it's not a perfect option.

  • On some phones with this feature, enabling Always On Display helps to fix this.

What is the Always-on Display feature?

Always On Display is a feature that allows you to check important information on the locked screen, so you don't need to touch the screen to stay up to date. You can customize your lock screen to display the time, date, music, weather, alarms, calendar, and Bixby Routines.

#3 — The SIM cardeSIM is not detected

Not detecting the SIM card in the phone compared to the previous problems does not occur that often, but it is worth knowing what to do in a situation where such a problem occurs.

Usually, restarting the phone is enough to fix the problem, but this solution doesn't always work for everyone or the problem only lasts for a few minutes.

Another solution may be to activate mobile data even with a Wi-Fi connection helps to solve the problem. Of course, this solution is only great for people with a good data plan, and you'll need to keep your data usage under control in case your Wi-Fi connection is lost. There are charges for using the data, so using this solution without a data package is not recommended.

If you are the owner of a phone with an eSIM card, you can use a different workaround. All you need to do is dial the code * # * # 4636 # * # * on the screen of your phone to open the network settings. This may take several tries. Tap on About phone. In the network settings section, change the setting to one that works. If you need assistance, you can also find out what the appropriate option is by contacting your network operator.

#4 —  The Google results in high battery consumption

Some Smartphone users have found that the Google app is responsible for most of the battery consumption on their devices. This is a problem that occurs quite often and on a variety of phones. Removal, however, is not an option, but you can try another method that will reduce the battery consumption at least a little.

On your smartphone, go to Settings> Applications and notifications and open the list of applications. Scroll down to the Google app and tap on it. Click on Memory and Cache and clear both.

In the previous menu, click on Mobile and Wi-Fi Data. You can turn off background data usage and unlimited data usage, and turn on Wi-Fi Off and Data Usage Off. However, this will affect the behavior of the app, and the Google app and its features (such as the Assistant) will not function as expected. Only perform these steps if the battery is discharged to render the phone unusable.

This issue seems to come and go with software updates. So, if you run into this problem, an upcoming app update will likely fix it.

#5 — Problems with charging cable

Battery drain

It might just be a problem with the charging cable itself. Before you panic makes sure it works, you can check it very easily by charging other phones or devices. If the cable is not working and neither of these devices is charging, then your only option will be to buy a new cable.

These problems are especially common with USB-C to USB-C cables. Some have found that using a USB-C to USB-A cable instead solves the problem. Obviously, if your charger uses the former, you will need an alternative to use the latter type of cable. You can also ask for assistance in choosing a cable at the service or branch.

Another method is cleaning the USB port - although it does not always work for everyone, you can of course try it. All you need to do is fold a business card or find another thing that will fit in the hole and gently clean the port with a sharp edge. You can also use compressed air as long as the pressure intensity is not too high.

#6 —  Performance issues, and battery

  • In most cases, simply restarting your phone often does the trick.

  • Make sure the software you currently have on your smartphone is up-to-date.

Select Settings> System> Advanced> System Update. Also, update all applications downloaded from the Google Play Store.

  • Check phone memory. You may start to notice a slowdown when the amount of free space drops below 10%.

  • Check and make sure third-party applications are not causing problems by booting into safe mode and seeing if the problem persists.

  • If you notice that many applications are running in the background and causing battery life and performance issues, you may need to force them to stop. To do this, go to Settings> Apps & notifications and open the application list. Find the app, and then tap Force Stop.

If none of the methods mentioned work, the only way might be to do a complete factory reset.

#7 — CWifionnection problem

There are times when you may encounter Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues, this is not a common problem, but it does occur from time to time and it's worth knowing how to deal with it. Some devices have Android-specific connectivity issues, here are some tips you can try.

Wi-Fi issues

To begin with, try turning off the device and router for at least ten seconds, then turn them on again and try connecting again.
Go to Settings> Power Saver and make sure the option is turned off.

Then re-connect the Wi-Fi connection. Open Settings> Wi-Fi, long-press on the name of the connection, and then click Forget. Now enter the details again and try again.

Make sure your Wi-Fi router firmware is up to date.

Additionally, make sure that the applications and software on the device are up-to-date.
Go to Wi-Fi> Settings> Advanced and note the MAC address of your device, then make sure it has access to your router's MAC filter.

Bluetooth issues

  • In case of problems while connecting to other devices, e.g. in the car, refer to the instructions of the manufacturer of the device and the car and reset the connections.

  • Check that a significant part of the connection process is missing. Sometimes some Bluetooth devices have unique instructions to check this Go to Settings> Bluetooth and make sure nothing needs to be changed

  • Additionally, go to Settings> Bluetooth and remove all previous pairings and try to configure them again from scratch. Also, don't forget to remove any devices from this list that you are no longer connected to.

  • However, when it comes to problems with the connection of many devices at the same time, only a future update will be able to solve this problem.

Typically, third-party applications cause quite a few problems with the Android operating system. Booting into Safe Mode is often the best way to find out if that's the case. If the problem goes away, an app is a cause.
